WHAT'S NEW?
Summertime is always a busy time for families as we seek to enjoy the outdoors for as long as possible. Many people are traveling and taking their children on family vacations. Church events are not as frequent as during the rest of the year. This year our church did participate in the 4th of July parade! This was a wonderful event as we were able to connect with many people from the community by handing out information cards about the church as well as "million dollar bill" tracts with the message of salvation offered on the backside. An electric car driven and owned by Allen Bruggink was decorated in patriotic colors with several signs that let people know who we are.
SMALL GROUPS
Men's and Women’s Evening Bible Studies are available. Please check with Pastor Boon for information on current studies.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL will resume the study of“Overcoming Sin” in Fall. This study is centered on the concept of the 7 Deadly Sins: Pride, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Vainglory, Envy, Sloth, and Anger. From these spring many behaviours that hurt, kill, and destroy. As Christians we are set free from being in bondage to these. The study has helped many of us identify behaviors that need changing, and the influences that cause them. The influence of Christian living according to the Bible is the only way to identify and change for good.
3rd SUNDAY AT HOPE is an evening of worship from 6:30 to 8pm on Sunday evenings throughout the summer. Our next evening gathering will be on July 18th. We will be hearing a message by John MacArthur entitled "The Myth of Influence " from the 2003 Ligonier National Conference. How has the church's worship been influenced by the culture? This is an in-depth message that will challenge your mind and heart. Light refreshments and a short discussion will follow.
OUTREACH
Our congregation is partnering with the Youth and Family Project as an outreach ministry to the homeless in Washington County. Our church will be receiving families as part of a rotation schedule with nine other churches. Kettlebrook Church has graciously agreed to help us as needed. Many volunteers have donated and continue to donate supplies for bed, bath, and kitchen. We are excited to be able to serve the Lord in this way.
We continue to collect non-perishable food items for the Full Shelf Food Pantry in West Bend. Donations can be placed in the trunk in the entryway.
